Congratulations and welcome to all of the families who have received places at Evendons Primary School for this year. We are very happy you will be joining us in September and we can't wait to meet you all!
Evendons Primary School
We are delighted that the DfE have approved our application to open a primary school in The Evendons Ward in Wokingham and we are very excited to be in the pre-opening phase of the project to open our new school in September 2014. The school will be located in the heart of the Evendons ward of Wokingham
Community is at the heart of Evendons Primary School as is a focus on enterprise, education and academic excellence in English and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
It will be a two-form entry school teaching children aged 4-11, opening initially with Reception as well as possibly Year 1 classes. It will be inclusive and open to all faiths and affiliations.
Our principal goal will be to provide a safe and caring, community-led school in which our children will grow and succeed. We have chosen a two-form-entry of 25 pupils to maximise the distinct advantages of learning in smaller class sizes.
Our aim is to encourage each child to be independent, enquiring and ambitious. We will inculcate values of tolerance, respect, trust and community.
In summary, Evendons Primary School will offer:
- A fun, vibrant, learning environment – a springboard for success
- Outstanding teaching, Excellence in English and STEM subjects
- A broader curriculum with a particular focus on enterprise and 21st-century skills
- Enriched learning experiences
- Engagement and partnership with the local community
- After-school and breakfast clubs

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Patrick Pritchett as the first Headteacher of our school. When we started the recruitment campaign back in September, we were absolutely clear that the Headteacher appointment would be one of the most important decisions we would make for our school as the individual would be responsible for turning our vision and ethos into reality. We set out to recruit an exceptional Headteacher and we have achieved just that.
Patrick’s background as a trained engineer and in Education together with a proven track record as an existing Headteacher is a unique match for Evendons Primary School.
We are looking forward to working with Patrick over the coming months, and together, in the new year, we will begin the process of recruiting the teachers and teaching assistants that will ensure the school has a really successful team moving forward. Patrick will officially take up his new role at the beginning of the summer term in April 2014, which will allow time for the preparations of opening the new school in September 2014.
